new camera I just got myself a new small digital, a Nikon coolpix, so that I can take snaps for the blog. and for other things of course. it seems to work quite well. some I took earlier – this is newly ploughed earth in my friend henry’s ex-potato field, ready for sowing wheat – the green behind is wheat he put ina couple of weeks ago. and a deer footprint – the red deer seem to be very busy around the edge of the woods – and here are some pretty but very poisonous berries. Autumn is very much with us now – the first real sign being that the pinkfooted geese have arrived from Iceland to over-winter here. they eat the sugarbeet left by the harvester – and the harvest has just started. so we have these wonderful vee-shaped flocks of geese flying over, all squeaking and honking away, looking for their favourite food.
