in the grip of the wind
wells beach was all ashine in the sun today, wet soggy sand reflecting the sky, so that I thought the tide was in when I first saw it. the wind was so cold after 20 minutes walking against it it felt as though somebody’s very cold hands were gripping my face.

such bright eye-watering light after the dull damp weather was shocking and invigorating.

pale sand smoking across the beach in snaking bands. at home again I found sand in my eyebrows.

it was too cold to continue out in the wind, so we ended up in the pinewoods.

Absolutely breathtaking. The dogs look very peaceful on the sandy shores.
